Every year, Sciences Po Toulouse welcomes more than 200 international students from around the world. Their presence adds to the diversity of our community, giving students the opportunity to share their experiences, exchange perspectives and discover different ways of seeing the world.

This international outlook is reflected not only in the classroom, but also in campus life. Student associations, collective projects and events throughout the year create opportunities for students from different backgrounds to meet and connect.

Whether you are joining Sciences Po Toulouse through an exchange agreement with your home university or applying as an independant student, several options are available. Admission requirements and application deadlines vary depending on your situation: find below the pathway that best matches your study plans.

HOW TO COME AND STUDY AT SCIENCES PO TOULOUSE?

International students can join Sciences Po Toulouse through several pathways, depending on their study plans and individual situation.
Two pathways offer direct admission to Sciences Po Toulouse:

  • The exchange programme, through a bilateral agreement between your home university and Sciences Po Toulouse, or through the Erasmus+ programme for European partner institutions. This allows you to take Sciences Po Toulouse courses for one or two semesters, as part of your home degree programme.
  • The University Diploma (DU) "International and Comparative Studies", open to individual applicants independently of any exchange agreement. This programme is also open to exchange students who choose to study at Sciences Po Toulouse for a full academic year, allowing them to obtain a diploma awarded by the institution, provided they meet the specific requirements of the DU (attendance, assessments, and validation of the required ECTS).

The exchange programme

If your home university has a partnership with Sciences Po Toulouse, you may join us through an exchange programme (such as Erasmus+ or bilateral agreements), for a semester or a full academic year 

  • You remain enrolled at your home university
  • You are exempted from tuition fees at Sciences Po Toulouse
  • You must be officially nominated by your home institution
  • Depending on your home university, a Learning Agreement may be required, to be completed and validated before or upon arrival 
 
The University Diploma in International and Comparative Studies 

This diploma is accessible to independent students (free movers) for the full academic year. It is not available on a semester basis. 

 

Exchange students who have completed at least one year of higher education may also apply for the University Diploma in International and Comparative Studies, which is completed over one full academic year and is worth 60 ECTS credits.



This programme is open to international students who have successfully completed at least one year of higher education. It awards a university diploma entitled International and Comparative Studies, worth 60 ECTS credits. It provides high-level training in international relations and comparative political studies, covering a wide range of global issues. Students choose their language of instruction at the time of enrolment, opting for either the English-taught or the French-taught stream.


Admission requirements
  • A minimum of one year of completed higher education (60 ECTS) in political science or a related field
  • A B2 of proficiency in the language(s) of instruction (French or English) 
 

OTHER PROGRAMS

Access to Sciences Po Toulouse's other degree programmes is through competitive entrance examinations, according to the admission requirements specific to each programme. International candidates may therefore apply through the entrance examination procedures set up for admission to the institution's diploma (provided that they demonstrate a strong command of the French language).

A selective, full-time programme taught primarily in French. It is accessible only through a competitive entrance examination, whether entering in the 1st year or directly into the 4th year.

Through a partnership with the Universidad Complutense de Madrid ‘UCM), Sciences Po Toulouse offers Spanish-speaking and French-speaking students the opportunity to graduate with two degrees from two prestigious institutions.

Sciences Po Toulouse masters' degree are open to holders of a bachelor's degree (180 ECTS / 3 years of higher education) and offer 3 specialization tracks leading to a master's-level degree (5 years of higher education).
